Features of Vizio V and M Series
Design and Build
In terms of design, the Vizio M series VS V series are very similar. They both feature thin profiles and neither has a high-end finish you may see in more expensive TVs, but they look great in your home nonetheless.
The remote controls they come with have been stripped down to the bare minimum. While some may not like this, others find it much more appealing to find the right buttons.
Picture Quality
Both the Vizio V and M series feature the IQ active processor, which really speeds up their performance. The M series has local dimming, Quantum technology, and other advanced features which do give it a slight edge over the V series. However, many products in the V series line are optimized for gaming, which gives this particular line an edge in this category as well.
The winner for picture quality isn’t very distinguishable, because it all depends on your needs. If our media team had to pick, it would be the M series.
Winner: Vizio M Series
Audio Quality
There were no obvious winners in the above two sections, but the audio quality is where that changes. The M series has a clear advantage as their speakers have more power when we compare TVs of the same size.
Take the 65-inch for example, the M series has 20 watts of power compared to the 16 watts in the V series. However, the SPL, or sound pressure level, which determines how evenly spread the audio is, is higher in the V series.
In regular-sized rooms, wattage tends to be more vital in audio quality, which is why the M series takes the crown.
Winner: Vizio M Series
Technology
In terms of technology, what you want really matters. The V series representative above is highly versatile with HDR, 4K Ultra HD, and SmartCast. It is also optimized for gaming on top of all these features.
However, the Vizio M series has a ton of power under the hood with Quantum technology, local dimming zones and an active full array.
Connectivity and Ports
We looked at all the products in both lines when we compared the two product lines. Our audiovisual team has discovered that the M series products tend to have more ports. You can find HDMI [1], USB, digital optical and RCA analog out, plus Ethernet and composite in.
The difference is that the M series features more HDMI ports, which can be very handy when integrating other devices. You can also connect your Google Assistant, Alexa, and Siri devices for control.
Winner: Vizio M Series
Smart TV Features
Both lines are pretty on par in this section as they both allow users access to a ton of streaming platforms and are equipped with SmartCast. The V series does come with content suggestions and even ads, which can be a turnoff to some users. If you don’t find suggested content and ads useful, then our media team suggests opting for the M series.
Price and Warranty
The price is a generalization from our experts, taking into account all the products from both product lines. The M series items tend to be slightly more expensive. Don’t be alarmed, because the difference in TVs of comparable sizes is only around 100. The price difference is largely due to slightly superior technology.
Vizio TVs come with a 3-year warranty, and since the M and V series are both under the brand, users will be protected for 3 years.
Winner: Vizio V Series
Overall Winner: Vizio M Series
The overall winner in the Vizio V series VS M series is the latter. The M series has more advanced visual technology that edges out its competitor, and it also has the audio quality to match it. The M series also offers more connection ports, but users should be prepared to pay a slightly higher cost for the Ms.
